Let’s talk about wincest.
Given my (inadvertent) role in the recent controversy, I felt I should share my thoughts on the wincest ship. The first thing I want to say is this - nothing I do or say or draw is meant to be an attack on wincest or any other ship. I do not attack other ships because we all have equal rights to exist and I hope that others will extent the same courtesy.
With that said, incest is icky. There, I said it. However, that is just my personal opinion and while I feel that way about incest, I also feel that two grown adults should have the right to do as they please as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else, and if two people who are related want to be together, that’s their business.
As it pertains to Sam and Dean, I can certainly see how the ship could exists - their relationship is deep and meaningful and in the end they will always have each other. Nothing is more important to them than family and when the world goes under, they can always look beside themselves to find the other there. The love is there, and it’s genuine.
I personally do not see the sexual chemistry between Sam and Dean, and that’s not just speaking as a Destiel shipper. I feel their love is one of pure family and brotherhood. And nothing can dilute that that love. Not the women they’ve been with, not Castiel, and not the ownership of an amulet. The strength of their relationship is not diminished by their relationship with others. It is strong, and it is everlasting.
Also Wincest is like the cleverest ship name ever so congrats on that.
